Elk River

Max and I have been staying at Blue Lake and there is no computer. I am having serious internet withdrawals. We went to the
Kelly Farm http://www.mnhs.org/places/sites/ohkf/ today and then stopped to get coffee and Max pointed out that they had free computers if you bought something, so I am frantically checking my email and other important things.

First we went to Elk River and walked around downtown and down to the Mississippi River. Then we went to the Kelly Farm. Max's favorite thing was petting the piglets, calves and sheep running everywhere. We also petted the horse. The house was full of flies, so they were trying to clean up and Max swept the floor for them. It was very hot with the wood stove going strong.

We are enjoying Blue Lake as well. The cabin has been painted a bright yellow with white trim. It is quite a change from the old green. I will post pictures when we can. The sad thing about the cabin is the lack of birds, squirrels, and other wild life. I did see two chipmunks chasing around, but otherwise it is very quiet. In the mornings I have heard loons on the lake, but it is quite different than it used to be.

I have to get off the computer, so I will have to write more detailed posts later.
